Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data QuiltStart collects, why, and your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. QuiltStart is run by an independent sole trader based in Brazil, who is the data controller. Contact: hello@quiltstart.com.
What we collect
- Your email address and first name, if you reserve a founding place. We use them to send your launch link and, only if you ticked the box, occasional beginner tips.
- Your quiz answers, if you take the quiz, to suggest a project and to understand what beginners need.
- Anonymous usage events, such as which pages were viewed and which buttons were pressed, linked to a random code that is not stored on your device and does not identify you. We use this to improve the site.
- Advertising measurement: only if you click "Accept", we load the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies so Meta can tell us which advert brought you here. If you click "Reject", it is never loaded.
Legal basis
Consent for the Meta Pixel and for tips emails; our legitimate interest in running and improving the site for anonymous usage events; and taking steps at your request for your launch link.
Who processes your data
- Supabase (database, servers in London, UK)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Meta Platforms (advertising measurement, only with your consent)
- Paddle.com (payments and tax, once purchases open)
Some of these providers may transfer data outside the UK and EU under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Reservation emails are kept until launch plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them. Anonymous usage events are kept for up to 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@quiltstart.com. You can change your cookie choice by clearing this site's data in your browser. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
